Mildred Janet Fiddler

Mildred Janet "Mick" Fiddler, 77, of Hagerstown, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born March 27, 1934, in Leetown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Mamie (Johnson) Fiddler.

Also affectionately known as "Micko" and "Nan," she had been a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Hagerstown and had bowled in several leagues for many years at Longmeadow Bowling Alley.

Being the angel that she was, "Nan" raised two children from birth, Lonnie Arvin of Clear Spring and Brenda Baker of Hagerstown.

Mildred is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Sherry, of Clear Spring; her son-in-law, Robert, of Hagerstown; five sisters, Mary Dowler of Hagerstown, Shirley Howe of Hagerstown, Mamie Harnish of Hagerstown, Marie Davis of Hagerstown and Margaret Cosgrove of Prince George, Va.; two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Fiddler, both of Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Angie Arvin, John Forberger II, Robert Baker II, Christopher Baker and Katrina Baker; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by sisters, Violet Fiddler, Helen Gettel and Daisy Clipp; and brothers, Mahlon Fiddler, Herman Fiddler and Marion "Buddy" Fiddler.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Thom Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
