Mitzi Dawn Burgan, 43, of Funkstown, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at her home.
Born October 19, 1973, she was the daughter of the late Joyce Elaine Burgan.
Mitzi was confirmed at Grace United Church in Frederick, and attended Christ Reformed Church in Hagerstown.
Mitzi had an impressive collection of teddy bears and she also loved children and dogs.
She is survived by a sister, Stacey Ann Johnson; a brother, Rodney Eric Burgan and wife Kristy; a uncle, Arthur Burgan and wife Libby; two aunts, Twyla Sullivan and husband Jeffrey, Carolyn Fisher; nieces and nephews, Alexandria Herrick and husband Brandon, Samantha Johnson, Benjamin Burgan, Courtney Burgan; godchildren, Noah and Luke Sullivan; her godfather, Richard Stork; a great-aunt, Doris Farrow; six cousins Abby Housel and husband Jeff, Karen Advincula and husband Sonny, Terri Stork, Michelle Stork, Melissa Sullivan and Ashley Pitre and husband Matt and several friends and extended family.
In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents who helped raise her, Arthur Burgan, Sr. and Marie Burgan; her godmother, Beverly Stork and cousin Amy Everett.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Ashley Pitre officiating.
Inurnment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
