Nancy Lee Heavner

Nancy L. (Couch) Heavner, 75, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. Formerly of Hagerstown Md., she resided in Selbyville, Del., for the last five years.
Born Feb. 1, 1935, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mabel V. Reel.
Nancy worked at E.J. Fennel as a seamstress until the closing of the business. She then obtained her high school diploma and worked at Rotorex in Walkersville, Md., for several years. She retired from Action Products in Hagerstown.
Nancy is survived by two daughters, Frances I. Chapman and husband Lee of Dunlap, Tenn., and Brenda L. Tomlinson and husband Bill of Selbyville, Del., with whom she resided for the past 12 years. She also is survived by two granddaughters, whom she raised, Nanaette Kagle Bordner and husband Ken of Dillsburg, Pa., and Angela Kagle Ashworth of Hagerstown. She also is survived by the two most precious things in her life, great-granddaughters, Paige Morgan Ashworth and Jenna Brook Ashworth, also of Hagerstown. Nancy also is survived by a brother, Howard Reel of Baltimore, and a sister, Catherine Handschuh, also of Baltimore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett "Don" L. Couch; a brother, Leonard Reel; and a sister, Margaret Gardner.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, Md., with the Rev. Louis Emerick officiating.
Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park immediately following the service.
