Patricia Ann Savage

Patricia Ann (Daley) Savage, 74, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, in the care of her four children.

Born May 1, 1938 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Richard and Ruth Signora (Iverson) Daley. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Thomas Robert Daley.

She is survived by four children: Jane Savage Seward of Olney, Maryland; Pastor Thomas Robert Savage (Barbara) of Locust Grove, Virginia; Julie Lyn Savage (David Fenstermacher) of Mt. Airy, Maryland; and Dr. Timothy Howard Savage of New York City. She is also survived by her former husband, Dr. Howard T. Savage, a sister, Mary R. Hinze (Les) of Onalaska, Wisconsin and seven grandchildren: Nicholas Seward; Joshua, Jeffrey, Jeremy, and Jaci Savage; and Jana and Elise Fenstermacher.

After 14 years of service as a teacher for the Prince George's County Board of Education, Patricia retired in 1987. She also worked at the University of Maryland University College in College Park, MD. Patricia was a passionate volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in both Wisconsin and Maryland, with the Women Build program and Hagerstown's ReStore.

She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Patricia loved reading, sewing, gardening, redecoration, and doing crafts. She held numerous positions to support her Greenbelt community, donating her time to the Co-op Nursery School, Greenbelt Center Elementary and Bethune Junior High PTAs and Cub Scouts. Among her many journeys, she greatly enjoyed Denmark, Spain, Britain, and Poland.

Inurnment will be private. The memorial service will be held on Friday, March, 15 at 1:00pm, with a luncheon to follow, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
