Paul Clinton Burkett

Paul Clinton Burkett, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away, Saturday, November 16, 2013 at his home.

Born, July 30, 1927 in Washington County, Maryland, he was the son of the late, George and Sallie (Gossard) Burkett.

Mr. Burkett, was a US Army veteran veteran of WW II.
He was a member of Paramount Baptist Church, Hagerstown and a member of the Funkstown #211 American Legion.

Mr. Burkett had worked as a pipe solderer for the M.P. Moller Organ Company, Hagerstown, a parts clerk for General Motors in Martinsburg and as a crossing guard for the Washington County Board of Education.

He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Tansey A. (Myers) Burkett; six sons, Jimmy Burkett of Martinsburg, Greg Burkett and wife Delores, of Martinsburg, Brett Burkett of Salisbury, Md., Brian Burkett of Hagerstown, Bradley Burkett and wife Stephanie of Martinsburg and Christopher Burkett of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one step son, John Hollinshead and wife Kandy of Hagerstown; one step daughter, Tammy Higgins and husband Brian of Hagerstown; one sister, Doris Cockrell and husband Vernon of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Higgins.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Dr. Larry Rickard officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. .
