Ellis Paul Winebrenner, 79, of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017.
Born November 12, 1937, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Grant U. and Ruth (Browning) Winebrenner.
Ellis worked as a janitor for the Human Development Council in Hagerstown, where he was a resident. He was a member of the Men's Club; Club Adventure; Lawn Crew; and Kitchen Crew at HDC. Ellis was also a former member of the Happy-Go-Lucky Bowling League.
He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and enjoyed taking vacations. His favorite destinations were trips to the beach, Gettysburg, and Lancaster. Ellis was a very social guy that loved to play pranks on his friends and tell jokes. He was well loved.
Ellis is survived by his family from HDC, especially; Cathy Monroe, Julie Wright, Andrea McCoy, Stephanie McCoy, BreAnna Suiter, Donna Boschert, and Dave Reed.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour before the service and again following the funeral at the funeral home.
