Percy Lee Shumaker, Sr.
Percy Lee Shumaker, Sr., 69, of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center.
Born August 2, 1944 in Sharpsburg, he was the son of the late Lester and Mary (Sweeney) Shumaker.
Percy was the owner and operator of Shumaker's Concrete and Masonry in Hagerstown for the past 30 years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors; and spending time with his family and friends.
Percy is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dorothy A. (Gatrell) Shumaker; two sons, James G. "Jimmy" Shumaker and his wife Dee Vaughn of Hagerstown, Percy L. Shumaker, Jr. and his wife Linda S. of Hagerstown; one sister; three brothers; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Long, who died in May 2013; one sister; and six brothers.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, September 28, 2013 with the Rev. Todd Stroud officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Friday from 7-9pm at the funeral home.
