Phillip Aldine Longnecker, Sr.

Phillip Aldine Longnecker, Sr., 86, of Chewsville, MD, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at Martinsburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Martinsburg, WV.
Born in Chewsville, Md on March 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Barbara (Hartle) and Lewis H. Longnecker. In addition to his parents, Phillip is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Nancy Longnecker and one sister, Connie Wiles.
Phillip was a U.S. Army veteran and a truck driver for many years. He attended Grace Brethren Church and had a passion for motorcycles, cars, gardening and animals.
Phillip is survived by 8 children, Barbara Dagenhart, Phillip Longnecker, Jr., Vickie Bridendolph, Lynda Wilcox and husband John, Randy Longnecker and wife Laurel, Karen Miller, Mike Longnecker and wife Tina, and Larry Longnecker; sister, Margaret Martin; 14 grandsons; 12 granddaughters; and 27 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc., 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21742. Pastor Mike Bennett will be officiating. Interment to follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 on Monday at the funeral home.
