Rebecca Ann Younkins, 71, of Hagerstown, passed away, Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Ravenwood Nursing Center, Hagerstown.
Born June 6, 1946 in Frederick, Maryland she was the daughter of the late, Linford Glenwood Best and Kathryn Rebecca (Kennedy) Best. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her son, Adrian D. Younkins.
Becky was a 1964 graduate of Boonsboro High School and Hagerstown Community College in 1981 with a degree in Nursing.
She retired from Washington County Hospital in 2010 with 29 years of service where she worked as a Psychiatric Nurse Educator.
She was a member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren, Brownsville, Md.
Becky loved lighthouses, covered bridges and butterflies.
She is survived by two brothers, Ernie Best (Mary) of Hagerstown and David Best (Suzie), Kilmarnock, Va.; God son, Patrick Best; three nephews, Scott Best (Jeannie), Ben Best (Cristel) and Joe Best (Stephanie); one niece, Vonda Clever; great nieces and nephews, Jonathan Best, Mark Trumpower, Drayvin Yoak, Briella Best, Ryn Best, Joey Best, Bryan Clever and Brandon Clever and good friend, Sharon Coulter.
A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Rd., Knoxville, Md. with Rev. Alan Smith officiating.
Inurnment will follow in the Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 5-7 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
