Richard Lee Semler

Richard Lee Semler, 70, of Hagerstown, died on Sunday, August 18, 2019.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow "Woody" Semler and Ruth Elizabeth "Susie" Semler, both of Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife, Cherry Semler; his brother, Harold Semler; two daughters, Sandra Semler and Suzanne Schultz; four grandchildren, Alana, Preston "Bubby", Angela, and Dean; and nephew, Adam Semler.
Richard proudly served in the United States Army in the late 1960s. He was a member of the Greenbelt American Legion Post No. 136, Funkstown Legion Dixon-Troxell Post 211, Hagerstown VFW Post 1936, and the Antietam Fire Company in Hagerstown, where he built floats and served as line officer.
Richard will be dearly missed by many.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Funkstown American Legion, 12 N Westside Ave, Funkstown, with Pastor Doug Diamond officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service for fellowship and refreshments.
