Rita Jainifer Chambers

Rita Jainifer Chambers, lovingly known as "Miss Rita", passed away at the age of 63, on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Meritus Medical Center.
Born October 20, 1950, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Junior and Mary Ella (Witaker) Chambers.
She was a graduate of Dunbar High School, in Baltimore, Maryland.
She enjoyed riding horses in her youth and collecting horse memorabilia. She enjoyed sewing repairs and being a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor. Rita never met a stranger.
Rita worked in the housekeeping department at many healthcare facilities in Hagerstown, as well as the Clarion Inn.
She is survived by her two sons, Matthew Hunt of Baltimore, Juel Hunt of Baltimore; a stepson, Derrick Hunt of Aberdeen; four sisters, Vanessa Cowder and husband Andre, Maria Kelson and husband Charles, Barbara Chambers, Cynthia Chambers all of Baltimore; grandchildren, Derez Hunt, Tianera Hunt, Lashawna Hunt, Tiana Hunt, Shaienne Hunt; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her soul mate, Matthews Hunt, II; a sister, Nancy Chambers; a brother, Darrel Chambers; and four grandchildren, Jayvon Hunt, Robert Hunt, Olivia Hunt, and Isiaiah Hunt.
A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Inurnment will be private.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
