Robert Lashley Scott

Robert Lashley Scott, 92, of Hagerstown, passed away, Friday, November 30, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born April 13, 1920 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Albert L. Scott, Sr. and Helen L. (Lashley) Scott.
Mr. Scott had worked a a Aircraft Inspector for the Fairchild Corporation and Letterkenny Army Depot.
He was a US Army veteran of WW II serving in Normandy, Northern France and Germany and was awarded the the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He was a member of Christ Reformed Church, Hagerstown and the Morris Frock American Legion Post No. 42.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Josephine (Basore) Scott; seven step children, Burton E. Showe and wife Brenda of Clear Spring, Tony W. Showe of Hagerstown, Timmy L. Showe and wife Evonne of Mercersburg, Robert E. Showe and wife Nancy of Fallon, Nevada, Suzanne L. Sigler and husband Jeffrey of Martinsburg, Darren L. Showe of Falling Waters and Joseph A. Showe and wife Megan of Charles Town; fourteen step grandchildren and twenty one step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his first wife Velma C. Scott and one brother, Albert L. Scott, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Gregg R. Meserole officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Maryland National Guard honor guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8 P.M.
