Robert Lee Harshman Sr., 79, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 29, 1932, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles W. â??Peteâ? and Mary Elizabeth (Reese) Harshman.
He was a 1950 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Funkstown American Legion.
He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.
Robert retired after 30 years of service at the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked as a letter carrier.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Teresa (Morgan) Harshman; a son, Robert L. Harshman Jr.; a stepdaughter, Shelly Miller; a grandson, Stefan W. Bockstanz and wife, Tara; a great-granddaughter, Abbigail K. Bockstanz; two sisters, Helen Gossard and husband, James, and Joan Heil and husband, Vernon; and a cousin, Laura Dorsey, all of Hagerstown.
Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
