Robert Lewis Semler

Robert Lewis Semler Jr., 78, of Hagerstown, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Born March 27, 1934, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Robert L. Semler Sr. and Pauline Francis (Hause) Semler.
Robert retired as a master sergeant for the West Virginia Air National Guard, where he worked as a flight engineer.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was Protestant by faith, and a member of the Williamsport American Legion Post 202.
He is survived by one brother, Donald "Jake" Semler of Hagerstown; one sister, Roberta "Susie" Rand and husband, John, of Fairplay; companion for more than 50 years, Jean D. Reynolds and her son, Dana, of Hagerstown; two nieces, Milissa Rand of Gaithersburg, Md., and Gwendolyn Murray of Fairplay; and one nephew, John Hartford Rand of Mercersburg, Pa.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Gerrard Fess officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to Church of Christ, 10014 Whitehall Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
