Robert Norman Bachtell

Robert Norman Bachtell, Jr. 91, of Hagerstown, passed away, Thursday, March 10, 2016 at NMS Health Care, Hagerstown.
Born January 1, 1925 in Smithsburg, Maryland he was the son of the late, Robert Norman Bachtell, Sr. and Blanche Leona (Trumpower) Bachtell.
Mr. Bachtell retired as an estimator for the M.S. Johnston Company, Hagerstown.
He was a US Marine Corps veteran of WW II, a member of Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion and the NRA.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Jane (Edwards) Bachtell; four sons, Richard Bachtell and wife Nancy of Hagerstown, Robert Bachtell III of Smithsburg, Ronald Bachtell of Clear Spring and Randy Bachtell of Hagerstown; one sister, Jane Bowen of Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Chris, Amanda, Chase, Bennett and Emmalei Bachtell; two great grandchildren, Caleb and Cody Bachtell.
A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown with Pastor Bill McPherson officiating.
Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Rose Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to the Hospice of Washington County, 747 northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
