Rose "Rosebud" Marie Hawthorne

November 8, 1939 — February 13, 2022

Rose Marie Hawthorne, 82, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Sterling Care of South Mountain in Boonsboro, Md.

Born on November 8, 1939, Rose was the daughter of the late, Joseph R. and Ellen (Phillips) Nuse. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hawthorne, Sr. and a brother, Joseph W. Nuse.

She was a member of Valley Assembly of God Church in Hagerstown. Rose was fondly known as "Rosebud". She had an infectious smile, laugh, and was always encouraging. She loved shopping for and giving gifts to others and especially looked forward to the Christmas holidays. She enjoyed thrift shopping and annual trips with family to Ocean City to sit on the same boardwalk bench and people watch. She will be missed by so many.

Rose is survived by four children, William Hawthorne, Jr. and wife, Sue of Hagerstown, Crystal Hawthorne of Funkstown, Md., Terri Johnson and husband, Steve of Hagerstown and Daniel Hawthorne and partner, Patricia of Winchester, Va.; two grandchildren, two step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Robert Jones and Rev. Samuel Taylor officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, two hours prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
