Roy Fred Craver, Jr. 85, of Hagerstown passed away, Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at his home.
Born July 17, 1932 in York, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late, Roy Fred Craver, Sr. and Florence Marie (Bergman) Craver. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by one son, Matthew Craver, one brother, William Craver and one granddaughter, Rebekah Craver-Strausbaugh.
Mr. Craver was a 1949 graduate of York High School.
He retired with 34 years of service as a district manager with Prudential Financial.
Mr. Craver was a founding member of Tri-State Fellowship where he was a bible teacher and a mentor to many. He was instrumental in starting the men's ministry and community and marriage groups. His life was a reflection of his faith in Jesus Christ his Savior. He also was a founding member of the Christian Motorcycle Association of Hagerstown.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, travel and vacations to the beach, motorcycles and southern gospel music.
Mr. Craver is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Norma Jean (Wilt) Craver; five children, Linda Golding (Brent) of Littlestown, Pa., Frederick Craver (Ruth) of Windsor, Pa., Daniel Craver (Veronica) of Macungie, Pa., Keith Craver (Laurinda) of Hagerstown and Jon Craver (Patricia) of Great Falls Va.; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one sister, Susan Craver of York, Pa.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Tri-State Fellowship, 13153 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, MD with Pastor Randy Buckman officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to Samaritans Purse and the Parkinsons Foundation.
