Ruby Ellen Hurley Stevens

Ruby Ellen Hurley Stevens, 92, of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, passed away, Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Berkeley Medical Center, Martinsburg.

Born July 7, 1924 in Rockcastle County Kentucky she was the daughter of the late, John and Cleo (Miller) Hurley. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Stevens, Sr.; two sons, Kenneth R. Stevens, Jr. and Timothy E. Stevens; one sister, Geraldine Hurley and one brother, John L. Hurley.

In addition to being a wife, mother and grandmother,she retired with 30 years of service in nursing.

She was a member of the Holiness Church of Jesus Christ, Berkeley Springs.

Mrs. Stevens is survived by five children, Janet L. Rowland of Falling Waters, W.Va., Brenda J. Rhinehart, John W. Stevens, Sr. and Deborah A. Erb of Berkeley Springs, and Michael D. Stevens of Parkersburg, W.Va.; four siblings, Marie Easterling of Akron, Oh., Barbara Workman of Dakota, W.Va., Jean Farley of Knoxville, Tenn. and Joan Carol Lewis of Powellton, W.Va.; thirty grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Brother Pete Miller officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
