Ruth Louise Bileci

Ruth Louise (Willis) Bileci, 91, of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Broadmore Assisted Living.

Born March 13, 1922 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late French Elmer and Ruth Winifred (Stotler) Willis.

Louise was a 1940 graduate of Hagerstown High School and went on to graduate from Western Maryland College.

While living briefly in Michigan, Louise worked for Gilbert Associates as a writer of job proposals. She was a hand bell consultant for the Melmark Company for over 50 years serving the local area in Cumberland and Frederick.

Louise was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church where she also worked as a substitute for their hand bell choir. She directed four other hand bell church choirs. First at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Funkstown, Otterbein United Methodist Church, Grace United Methodist Church and most recently at Haven Lutheran Church, where she was affectionately known as "Mrs. B". Louise had even formed a community hand bell choir called the "Little Heiskels". They played a concert at the Hagerstown Museum as well as several service clubs.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Salvador "Sal" Bileci of Pacific Grove, CA., Joseph Bileci, Jr. and wife Linda of Pacific Grove, CA; two sisters, Doris E. McMurtrie and husband John of Hagerstown, Jean Taylor and husband Charles of Cyress, TX; a grandson, Gabriel Bileci of Pacific Grove, CA; a granddaughter, Nicole Baker, also of Pacific Grove, and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Sofia.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Willis and a sister, Virginia "Ginny" Frush and her husband, Donald.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Patrick Ricker and Rev. Bill Warehime officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

On behalf of Louise, the family thanks the caregivers and staff at Broadmore Assisted Living and the Hospice team of nurses and volunteers for their caring support. Also for the dedication and support the hand bell ringers have provided through the years.
