Ruth Virginia Davis

Ruth Virginia (Rohrer) Davis, 88, of Hagerstown, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born April 2, 1924, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Karl W. and Jeanette (Burger) Rohrer.

She attended Hagerstown High School and was a former member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church.

Ruth worked as a home healthcare nurse up until her 70's. Her patients loved her. She also had previously worked at the Maryland Ribbon Company, Mack Truck and the Silk Mill, all in Hagerstown.

Ruth is survived by three children, Donna Allen and husband Dick of Falling Waters, WV., a son, Ronald Miley and wife Leslie of Cabot, AR, Amy Haines and fiancé, Matthew Johnson of Hagerstown; a sister, Jeanette Statton of Hagerstown; a brother, George G. Rohrer of Olympia, WA; four grandchildren, Travers B. Ruppert, Brandon D. Pile, Lauren J. Miley, Jacob C. Miley; three great-grandchildren, T. Michael Ruppert, Kierstyn H. Pile, Kaidyn A.G. Pile; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first love, Roy U. Talhelm, who died at Normandy around D-Day and was a member of the 101st Airborne Division, G-506; husband, Richard St. Clair; husband, Ronald E. Miley, Sr.; husband, Gerald E. Davis; a brother, Karl "Bud" Rohrer, II; a infant grandson, Todd Kendall Ruppert; and a great-granddaughter, Kelly Ruppert.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, April 4, 2012 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Greg Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
