Sally Ann Marquiss

Sally Ann Marquiss, 94, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011, at Williamsport Nursing Home in Williamsport.

Born Aug. 11, 1916, in Romney, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Ora (Haines) Hott.

Mrs. Marquiss was a homemaker and a very good cook.

She was a member of the Church of God Universal in Hagerstown.

She is survived by one daughter, Kay Palmer and husband, Marvin, of Williamsport; six sons, Marvin "Wayne" Trumpower and wife, Catherine, of Hagerstown, Vernon Trumpower and wife, Arlene, of Maugansville, Raymond W. Trumpower and wife, Barbara, of Greencastle, Pa., Ted Trumpower of Falling Waters, W.Va., Greg Trumpower and wife, Mary Ann, of Falling Waters, and Randy Trumpower and wife, Sherry, of Hickman, Tenn.; one sister, Edith Bruno of Harrisburg, Pa.; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; five stepchildren, Sandra Marquiss, Stanley Marquiss, Carolyn Booker, Suzi Vroman and Linda Koochoo; 11 stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William W. Trumpower, and second husband, Raymon Marquiss; one sister, Elsie Hott; three brothers, George, Ennie and Joseph Hott; one grandson, Darrell Trumpower; and two great-grandchildren, Jimmie and Jennifer Harne.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Church of God Universal, 12819 Point Salem Road, Hagerstown, with Pastor Alvin A. Craig Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Friends will be received Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
