Samuel Thomas Hankey

Samuel Thomas Hankey, 96, of Hagerstown, passed away, Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 7, 1923 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late, William and Lillian (Lee) Hankey. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lovalene (Sullivan) Hankey.
Mr. Hankey was a US Army veteran of WW II, a member of Morris Frock Post Post 42 American Legion and a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Hagerstown. He retired with 20 years of service as a district sales manager for the Maryland State Lottery.
Mr. Hankey is survived by his daughter, Sandra H. Green and husband, John T. of Hagerstown; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Fr. Doug Kenney as celebrant.
Inurnment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Hankey's name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
