Sandra Charlene "Sandy" (Germroth) Young, 63, of Hagerstown, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Shady Grove Adventist Intensive Care in Rockville.
Born February 14, 1947 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Morley Germroth and Phyllis (Titlow) Germroth Main
She was Methodist by faith.
Sandy was a 1965 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. After graduating nursing school, Sandy practiced at Washington County Hospital and Asbury Nursing Home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, Richard Neil Young and a brother, Charles Robert Germroth.
Sandra is survived by a son, Robert Young and wife Brenda of Derwood, MD.; a daughter, Stefanie Thompson and husband James of Talbott, TN.; her loving husband of six years, Ronald Gregory "Greg" Herbert of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Alexa, and Isabelle Young all of Derwood, MD.; two sisters, Diane Pryor and husband Bob of Myersville, MD.; Carol Baker and husband Bob of Annapolis; step mother, Edith Germroth of Maryland; several nieces, nephews, other friends and family.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Bill Keesecker officiating. Interment will be private in Rest Haven Cemetery.
