Sandra Lee (Zentmyer) Blair, 72, went home to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on the second day of December 2011, at Meritus Medical Center. She departed this earth surrounded by her loving family.
Born Dec. 7, 1938, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Clinton Zentmyer and Virginia (Barger) Swain.
Sandra was a graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She worked as a homemaker after starting a family, but previously worked as a proofreader at Double Day Publishing. She had also worked for the Busy Bee and the Busy Needle.
Sandra enjoyed crafts, especially painting and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray G. Blair, who died in 2003.
Sandra is survived by four children, Debbie Helfrick and husband, Randy, of Chambersburg, Brian Blair Sr. and wife, Deborah, of Hagerstown, Michael Blair and wife, Tracy, of Boonsboro, and Kristi Blair of Hagerstown; a brother, Steve Swain of Everett, Wash.; eight grandchildren, Christina Sowers, James Sowers, Tasha Blair, Brian Blair Jr., Gavin Blair, Larissa Blair, Cody Greenawalt and Bradley Lundberg; and a great-grandson, Zachary Hayes Tyler.
In addition to her parents and spouse, Sandra was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana L. Blair, who died in 2006; and two brothers, Larry Zentmyer and Gene Swain.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Dan Pritchett officiating. Interment will follow.
Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown, is in charge of the arrangements.
