Sara T. Hough, 79, of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Golden Living Center.

Born March 1, 1936, in Mont. Co. Md., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Helen (Ballenger) Titus. After her birth, her parents soon moved to Loudoun Co., Va., where Sara attended Lucketts Elementary and Leesburg High School.

While still in high school, she worked in a gift shop as well as the Va. MVA license plate office, selling license plates over the counter. In July 1953, she married Stanley E. Hough, Jr. They lived in Lucketts, Va. until 1959, when they purchased their first home in New Midway, Md. After moving to their new home, Sara and her husband joined St. John's U.C.C. in Woodsboro, where she played an active role in various women's organizations and classes. She chaired the St. John's peach festival a number of years. Sara also joined the Woodsboro Homemaker's Club and took an active part in making clothes and other crafts.

In 1984, she and her husband moved to Vero Beach, Fl., where she enjoyed walking the beach and picking up shells. She took a part time job at a local Hallmark store, were she worked as a salesperson ordering replacement cards and gift items as needed.

In 2004, she and her husband moved to Hagerstown, and they became members of First Christian Church. Sara attended services there until Alzheimer's took control of her body. She has been a resident of Golden Living Center for the last two years of her life.

In addition to her loving husband, Stanley, she is also survived by one daughter, Nancy McDaniel of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Kristopher Mc Daniel and his wife Sarai of Hinesville, GA., Meagan McDaniel and her significant other, Jim Werley of Ohio; and one sister, Betty Stickman of Rileyville, Va.

A visitation will be conducted from 6-8pm on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday in the mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mt. Hwy, Frederick, with a visitation held one hour before the start of the service. Burial will follow.
