Sonny Gross, Sr.

Earl Leon "Sonny" Gross, Sr., 82, of Hagerstown, passed away, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born October 7, 1936 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Gerald W. and Mildred V. (Musselman) Gross. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley J. (Young) Gross; his only child, Earl L. Gross, Jr. and three brothers, James, Albert and Eugene Gross.
Sonny was a US Navy veteran.
He was owner and operator of Sam Tooma & Son Oriental Rugs of Hagerstown.
He was formerly a member of Fountainhead Country Club where he enjoyed golfing every chance he had.
Sonny is survived by his daughter in law, Teresa L. Gross; one brother, Francis Gross; two sisters, Pearl Malloy and Dorothy McDowell; two grandchildren, Michael L. Gross and Stephanie R. Johnson (Brian) and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday March 8, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to services from 10 - 11 A.M.
