Stanford Ray Beebe

Stanford Ray Beebe, 83, of Hagerstown, passed away, Saturday, May 14, 2016, at his sons home in Hudgins, Virginia.
Born February 22, 1933 in Central City, Iowa he was the son of the late, Ivan and Melissa (Waters) Beebe. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon (Cooley) Beebe and one brother, Dale Beebe.
Mr. Beebe received his BS from the University of Iowa and a Masters in finance from American University.
He was as a general contractor for Charleston Builders, Washington D.C. and then for his own company SB Corporation.
Mr. Beebe served as a Captain in the Maryland National Guard Special Forces.
He was a member the University of Iowa Alumni.
He is a published author.
He is survived by one son, Steven M. Beebe (Lanette) of Gwynn’s Island, Va.; one daughter, Stacey R. McCarty of Culpepper, Va.; three brothers, Foch, Jack and Hal Beebe; two sisters, Jean Wallace and Dixie Kenney; five grandchildren, Lauren, Lilah, Kenneth, Jacob and Jeanette.
Graveside services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made in Stanford's name to the American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown is assisting the family with the arrangements.
