Suzanne (Stouffer) Yates, 79, of Hagerstown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born June 9, 1931, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Braden Ellsworth Stouffer and Hilda (Edwards) Norment.
She retired as a personnel assistant at The Herald-Mail Co. in Hagerstown after 28 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Meredith Walter Yates, who passed away in 1982.
Suzanne is survived by a son, John Robert Yates; a daughter, Kathy Anne Yates; a sister, Lois Rodeffer; and a brother, Alan Clingan, all of Hagerstown; a niece, Christina Thatcher; and two great-granddaughters, Kourtney and Kourynn Kochera.
In addition to her parents and husband, Suzanne was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Selma Smith, who passed away in 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Alan Clingan officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
