Thelma Louise Beard

Thelma Louise (Brewer) Beard, went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2017, at Julia Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown.
She was born October 28, 1925 in Hagerstown to the late, Renner and Julia Mae (Reid) Brewer. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by, four sisters, Ruth Detloff, Helen Durbin, Goldie Barkdoll and Hilda Wise; two brothers, Harry Brewer and Renner Brewer.
Mrs. Beard was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She was a member of Christ Reformed Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by her loving husband , Donald Eyler Beard of more than 69 years; one sister, Mildred Marker and one brother, Reid Brewer, both of Hagerstown; six children, Suzanne Castello and husband Joel of Midland, Texas, Donnie Beard and wife Linda of Boonsboro, Cathy Beard of Boonsboro, A.J. Beard and wife Kathy of Hagerstown, Edwin Beard and wife Lucinda of Boonsboro and Julie Hendershot and husband Alan of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Florine Foster.
Funeral services will be private and conducted at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Julia Manor Nursing Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in memory of Thelma Beard to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
