Thelma Marie Troup

Thelma Marie Brown Troup, 101, of Boonsboro, passed away, Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born January 24, 1911, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Mamie (Baker) Alexander.
Mrs. Troup had worked as a seamstress for the Dorbey and L'Aiglon dress factory's.
She was a member of the Manor Church of the Brethren, Boonsboro where she had served as her class treasurer for many years. She also was a charter member of the Fairplay Ladies Auxiliary and past president of the Fairplay School PTA.
Mrs. Troup is survived by three children, Melodie L. Frey of Boonsboro, Calvin A. Brown and wife Sue of Hagerstown and Paul A. Brown and wife Lois of Boonsboro; two sisters, Teresa Tasker and husband Jack of Keyser, WV and Faye Hayes of Hagerstown; twenty one grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Brown, her second husband Earl Troup, a son, Kenneth J. Brown, a granddaughter, Karen Pheabus, a sister, Anna Kent, a brother, Harold Alexander and a son in law, James Frey.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Joy Zepp officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8 P.M.
