Thuryl Lousie Larue

July 1, 1928 — February 10, 2018

Thuryl Louise Larue, 89, of 1706 Abbey Ln. Hagerstown, Md, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at Williamsport Nursing Home, Williamsport, Md, surrounded by her family.

Born in Keedysville, Md on July 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Blanche Elinor (Taylor) and Joseph Leo Baker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Dale Blevins and second husband Robert "Bob" Larue.


Thuryl was an only child, raised on a farm surrounded by animals including her two horses, Tar Baby and Skipper.

Thuryl graduated from Boonsboro High, class of 1946.

She was a member of both, Washington Square United Methodist Church and Otterbein United Methodist Church.

Thuryl loved cooking and hosting friends and family at their cottage get away at Deep Creek Lake where they would spend most of the summer months.

Thuryl is survived by 3 children, Craig Blevins and wife Kimberly, Brian Blevins and wife Lisa and Vicki Horn; and 5 grandchildren, Taylor Horn, Derek Blevins, Lauren Blevins, Samuel Blevins, and Anna Blevins.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc., 1601 Pennsylvania Ave Hagerstown, MD 21742. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 7-9pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thuryl's name to Otterbein Methodist Chruch 108 E Franklin St. Hagerstown, MD or to Hospice of Washington County 747 Northern Ave. Hagerstown MD 21742.
