Vennie Catherine Myers

Vennie Catherine Myers, 93, of Hagerstown, passed away, Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Julia Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown.
Born March 8, 1920 in Garfield, Maryland she was the daughter of the late, Dallas Walton and Rosa Catherine (Green) Misner. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Marvin Myers; five brothers, Clarence, Commadore, Ira, Merl and Clifford Misner and four sisters, Alta Tracy, Lola Leiboldt, Haven Murdorf and Gladys Burker.
Mrs. Myers retired with 30 years of service in the Health Care Industry where she had worked as a nurse's aide. She previously had worked as a seamstress, a waitress and during the war for the U.S.N. as a civil servant.
She is survived by two caring nieces, Utha J. Glenn and Dorothy L. Garling, both of Hagerstown.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Dale Carver officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Thursday, one hour prior to services, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Vennie's name to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Rd., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
