Vera Gay Kennedy, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at Cadia Health Care, Hagerstown.
Born on April 14, 1935 in Jane Lew, WV, she was the daughter of the late Vergie (Cutlip) Armstrong and William Ernest Garton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years; John Sylvester Kennedy, Son; Wayne Knight, Brothers; Jim and Edward Garton, and Sisters; Betty Kelso and Charlotte Dixon.
Vera worked as a seamstress for Ross Garments until her retirement after 20 years. Afterwards she worked in retail at Perfumania at the Outlets.
She enjoyed reading, fishing, gardening and cooking, and was an avid bowler and Bingo player. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and pet cat. She was also an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.
She is survived by her Daughter; Debra K. Norman, Granddaughter; Michelle Sedillo and Great Grandson; Ethan A. Evitts.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
