Verna A. "Deenie" Nichols 78, of Hendricks WV, passed away Monday, May 18th, 2020 at her home.
Born on May 10th, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Paul E. Eichelberger, and Elizabeth I. Fisher. Deenie was preceded in death by her son John Paul Nichols in 2014.
Deenie was employed by Olan Mills as a photographer. She was a 1961 graduate of South High and obtained her Bachelor Degree in social work from Shippensburg University in 1995.
Deenie enjoyed poetry, fishing, visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by her sister; Paula Phillips and husband Charles of Hendricks, WV, nieces Paula Stevens of Elkins, WV, Tammy Mosley and husband Darryl of Tampa FL, and Carol Ann Williams of Hagerstown MD; nephew Gary W. Benner II and wife Mary of Hedgesville, WV; and several great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown on Saturday May 23rd at 1:00 PM. Chaplain Volodymyr Grinchenko will be officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. Victoria M. Giffi of the John Marsh Cancer Center in Hagerstown MD; Hospice of Tucker County and Tucker County Senior Center.
