Vina Mae Kline passed from this life on Sunday, January 23, 2022.

She was born May 2, 1929, to the late Mary (Ryan) Simpson and Benjamin T. Simpson in Madison, Wisconsin.

She graduated from East Madison High School.

After graduation, her first employment was with the telephone company in Madison as a switchboard operator. She married Albert B. Kline, Jr. on November 21, 1947. They moved to Hagerstown, Maryland for his employment. In Hagerstown, she was employed with the C&P Telephone Company, also as a switchboard operator. She left the phone company to raise her family.

After the children reached school age, she was employed with Harper-Collins / Harper Lippincott Publishers in Hagerstown as a Customer Service Representative. While employed at Harper Lippincott, she formed many lifelong friendships which were dear to her. Following a brief retirement, she returned to work as a Customer Service Representative with the Herald Mail Newspaper. She enjoyed working with the public and was highly respected by her coworkers. She continued to work until age 82.

Vina was a warm and caring person who never met a stranger, and placed others before herself. Her greatest love was her cherished family followed by her many friends. She loved nature, cardinals, and gardening. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed crewel embroidery and knitting newborn hats for the hospital.

Vina served as a leader in Cub Scout Pack 136 when two of her sons were members. She enjoyed travel and co-hosted bus trips and cruises with her husband for Art Richard's Travel Agency. She was a long-time member of the Church of the Holy Trinity UCC, where she served in several offices, taught Sunday School, and served on the Church's Consistory.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant son; Larry S. Kline, son; Thomas W. Kline, sister; Helen M. Kreisler of Cannon Falls, MN, brothers; James Simpson, Robert Simpson, and Donald Simpson, all of Madison, WI.

Vina is survived by her husband of 74 years, Albert B. Kline, Jr. of Williamsport, MD, cherished daughter; Michele D. Bowers and husband Kim of Williamsport, MD, sons; Bruce B. Kline of Mannheim, Germany and Mark D. Kline of Delhi, NY. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, of whom she was very proud and close to: Kathleen M. Kline Esq. of Philadelphia, PA; Sean R. Kline of Brooklyn, NY; Megan B. Bowers Wilson and husband James of Martinsburg, WV.; and Dr. Patrick M. Bowers of Corvallis, OR. She is survived by her beloved brother; John Simpson of Verona, WI, treasured sister-in-law; Marguerite (Kline) Wolfe of Foxville, MD, dear brother-in-law; George Kline of Douglasville, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be presided over by Rev. Duane Musgrove at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Vina's Life will be held at a later date.
