Vincent Blondell Ruck

May 10, 1927 — March 14, 2013

Vincent Blondell Ruck, 85, of Star, Mississippi and formerly of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Hospice Ministries in MS.

Born May 10, 1927 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Samuel and Laura (Harter) Ruck.

Vincent was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown for over 75 years.

He was a honorable veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of the Morris Frock American Legion Post No. 42 before becoming a member of the Dixon-Troxell American Legion Post 211 in Funkstown.

He had worked as an airplane engineer at Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown.

Vincent loved to fish and was a die hard Yankee's baseball fan. He loved to whistle and was very good at it!

Surviving him is his loving wife of 24 years, Beverly J. (Haden) Ruck; two children, Vincent Ruck, Jr., Jamie Ruck; three stepchildren, Chris Klusmeier, Sherry Klusmeier Little, Sue Klusmeier Cronch; nine grandchildren, Angela Ruck, Tracey Stegemann, Chris Little, Derrick Little, Stacey Croft, Melissa Day, Justin Lee, Michael Lee, Lauren Klusmeier; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Vincent was also preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Sauders Ruck; his second wife, Charlotte Haden Ruck; a daughter, Linda Ruck Lee; a stepdaughter, Sheila Klusmeier; two sisters, Gladys Ruck Ailshire, Betty Ruck West; and a brother, Samuel Ruck.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Clark D. Carr officiating. Interment will follow with military honors.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
