Virginia Lee Frush

Virginia Lee Frush, 85, of Hagerstown, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.

Born Aug. 9, 1925, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late French E. and Ruth Winifred (Stotler) Willis.

Virginia was a 1943 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

Before starting a family, Mrs. Frush worked as a civil service employee for the U.S. Air Force at Fairchild Aircraft Corp. in Hagerstown.

She was a lifelong member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, where she was active for many years in the church choirs. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting national parks and horticultural gardens.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Donald D. Frush; a daughter, Shirley (Frush) Konas and husband, Matthew, of Damascus, Md.; a son, Ronald Frush and wife, Cheryl, of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; three sisters, Louise Bileci and twin sister, Doris McMurtrie, both of Hagerstown, and Jean Taylor of Cypress, Tex.; a grandson, Ryan Konas, and a granddaughter, Jessica Konas, both of Damascus; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Willis.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Patrick Ricker officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home
