Walter Irving Magaw

Walter Irving Magaw, 81, of Hagerstown, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at the Golden Living Center, Hagerstown.
Born May 21, 1930, in Middlesex, N.J., he was the son of the late John and Lucille (Madrone) Magaw.
Mr. Magaw retired with 45 years of service as a machinist with Mack Trucks.
He attended Paramount Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the Halfway Volunteer Fire Co., with more than 30 years of service.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Shrader and husband, Guy, of Hagerstown; a son, David Magaw and wife, Betsy, of Hagerstown; two grandsons, Christopher Magaw and wife, Nicole, and Brian Magaw, all of Hagerstown; one great-grandson, Jaxson Magaw; and his dog, Holly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia A. (Corrigan) Magaw.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Niel Augustine officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
