Warren Alonzo Resley

August 15, 1928 — February 17, 2011

Warren Alonzo Resley, 82, of Williamsport, Md., died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born Aug. 15, 1928, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Floyd Conrad Resley and Alta Jeannette Sigel Resley.

He graduated from Mercersburg High School in 1946. He attended Lasalle University in Philadelphia, Pa.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Warren was retired from Resley Tire Co. Inc. He previously was employed with Fairchild Industries.

He was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church of Williamsport, where he served as an elder. He also was a member of the Alsatia Club; Morris Frock American Legion Post 42; Hagerstown, Md. BPO Elks Lodge 378; and Mount Pisgah Free and Accepted Masons Lodge No. 443.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce LaBelle Shank Resley; daughter, Joy Lynn Akers and her husband, Anthony Lee Akers, of Williamsport; son, Warren Alan Resley of Durham, N.C.; grandchildren, Ryan Lee Akers, Christina Lynn Akers, Brittany Maria Akers and Briana Katherine Akers, all of Williamsport; and stepbrother, Harry Foley of Greencastle, Pa.

Warren was preceded in death by stepmother, Mary Myers Foley Resley; brother, Floyd Robert Resley; sisters, Marion Resley Hoch, Evalyn Resley Kauffman and Jeannette Resley Frankenberry Dunn; and infant grandson, Anthony Lee Akers II.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 10813 Donelson Drive, Williamsport, with the Rev. Mark A. Sandell officiating. Burial will be private in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
