Wayne Thomas Johnson

Wayne Thomas Johnson, 79, of Hagerstown, passed away, Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at his home.
Born November 10, 1937 in Clear Spring, Maryland he was the son of the late, Thomas and Evelyn (Mullen) Johnson. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Johnson and three sisters, Phyllis Coffman, Betty Greenley and Glenda Deshong.
Mr. Johnson retired with 30 years of service as a welder with the Frick Company, Waynesboro, Pa.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the VFW Club of Greencastle and the Washington County AmVets.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Arline B. (Atherton) Johnson; four children; two step sons, Chester Sprankle, Jr. and Brian K. Sprankle and wife Michelle, all of Hagerstown; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Kibreab Gudeta officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home two hours prior to services.
