William Brooks Sellar

September 30, 1941 — February 5, 2017

William Brooks Sellar, 75, of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania passed away, Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born September 30, 1941 in Augusta, Maine he was the son of the late, Robert and Geraldine (Carter) Sellar. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his first wife, Rhodena M. (Nicholson) Sellar and one sister, Elizabeth Ryan.

Mr. Sellar was a US Army and US Navy veteran.

He was a salesman for Curtis Industries, Cocoa, Fla., Sears in Hagerstown and retired from Lowes in Waynesboro.

Mr. Sellar was a member of the First Baptist Church, Hagerstown where he served as a deacon.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lodge No. 35, A.F. & A.M., Augusta Maine and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.

He is survived by his second wife, Lois M. Raymond Sellar; four children, Michael Sellar and wife Kate of Waterville, Me., Richard Sellar and wife Cathy of Waynesboro, Edra Precious (Sellar) Waller and husband, John of Jacksonville, Fla.and Jennifer L. Oberholzer and husband, Lenny of Waynesboro; one sister, Barbara McArthur and husband, Charlie of Moline, Illinois; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 8 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church, 15 High St., Hagerstown with Pastor Thom Smith officiating.

Receiving of friends and a reception will be held on Wednesday at the church beginning at 5 P.M.

In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to First Baptist Church, 15 High St., Hagerstown, MD 21740 or to the American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201
