William Everitt Fisher

William Everitt Fisher, 66, of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017.

Born October 1, 1950 in Hagerstown, he was the youngest son of the late James Roy Fisher, Jr. and Janice LaRue (Everitt) Fisher.

Bill was a 1968 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. and served during the Vietnam War with the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing.

Bill retired after 30 years as a Captain at MCTC in Hagerstown.

He was member of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Hagerstown; Funkstown American Legion Post 211; Hagerstown Elks Lodge 378; Potomac Fish & Game Club in Williamsport; Eagles Club Inc. in Waynesboro; Western MD Rail Road Old Timers Club; and a proud member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Denese A. (Artz) Fisher; three children, his son, William Everitt Fisher, II and wife Hilary Fisher; and daughters, Kimberly Fisher Parks and husband William "Todd" Parks, Christina Noel Martin and husband Steven Martin; a brother, James Roy Fisher, III; a sister, Jennifer Lee Fisher; and 11 grandchildren, Alec, Jensen, Isabella, Annaliese, Slaydon, Liam, Ella, Chloe, Farin, Sage, and Ty.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. John Schildt officiating. Graveside services will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday at the funeral home, and again an hour before the service on Wednesday.
