William Henry Sayles

January 31, 1923 — August 6, 2013

William H. Sayles, 90 years, of Dayton Ohio, formerly of Hagerstown, died on Tuesday August 6, at the Hillspring Nursing Home.

Born in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William H. and Ruth Margaret (Tetlow) Sayles.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army Air Corp.

William was a retired employee of the United States Postal Services.

He was a member of St Mary Catholic Church; Morris Fock Post 42 American Legion; Antietam Fire Co; Order of the Eagles; Order of the Moose and the Knights of the Columbus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Marion (Whittle) Sayles; his siblings, Earl J. Sayles, Katheryn L. Chrisman, and Margaret A. Dellinger.

He is survived by his son, Michael J. Sayles and wife Pam of Ellijay, Georgia; a daughter, Carolyn L. Cusumano and husband Salvatore of Springboro, Ohio; two grandchildren, Zachary Cusumano and wife Corinne, Elizabeth Cusumano Martin and husband Cody; and two great-grandchildren, Sofia M. Cusumano and Charles J. Cusumano.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Father George Limmer officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Cancer Society or the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
