William R. Wilson

August 11, 1920 — June 15, 2014

William R. "Bill" Wilson (August 11, 1920- June 15, 2014). Bill grew up in Uniontown, PA., the son of William Wilson, Sr. and Helen Shoaf. His sisters Grace Frost and Jean Rogers predeceased him.

He served in the Army Air Corps during WW-2.

After moving to Hagerstown, MD, for many years he owned and operated the Wilson Sewing Center on Leitersburg Pike and Franklin Street. He retired to Sebring, FL and then more recently to Quincy Village.

His wife Fern (Erickson) Wilson died in 1982. He is survived by his son, Grant Wilson; three grandchildren, Alice Smith, Emily Steel and Eric Alterman; one great-grandson, Brian Smith and his companion, Harriet Glasgow.

Funeral services will be held at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, on Saturday June 21st at 1:00pm. Friends will be received one hour prior.

His family asks that any contributions be made to Quincy Village, 6596 Orphanage Rd, Waynesboro, PA, 17268 or the American Legion, 405 Northern Ave, Hagerstown, MD, 21742. Any flowers can be sent to Quincy's staff at the second floor nurse's station.
