Wilsie P. Wallace

Wilsie P. Wallace, 93, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at her home.

Born March 19, 1917, in Athens, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Dr. James Cleveland and Atossa (Morris) Poss.

Following her graduation from high school, she attended the University of Georgia.

She retired from Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, Ill., and had also worked at Bakalar Air Force Base in Columbus Ind., A.P.S.A. in Joliet, Ill., and Bremerhaven, Germany.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Hagerstown and Morris Frock American Legion Post No. 42 Auxiliary.

She loved being around her family, going to Charles Town and Virginia Beach, and singing old songs.

Wilsie is survived by a daughter, Barbara Dutton and husband, William; a granddaughter, Kassandra Keller and husband, Timothy; and a great-grandson, Anthony Keller, all of Hagerstown.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Hersey; a nephew, Charles Hersey; and a granddaughter, Latosha Judd.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Nancy Jenkins officiating.

Friends will be received Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel.
