Winifred L. Swartz, a life-long resident of Hagerstown, passed away in the early morning hours of November 24th at Washington County Hospital. She was born in Winchester, Virginia on October 27, 1921 to the late Austin and Laura Swartz.
Winifred worked in retail sales in the city of Hagerstown and was retired from K-mart.
She is survived by her sister, C. Virginia Stewart; her grandson, A. Thomas Swartz, both of Pennsylvania; six nieces and nephews, Sherrie Stewart, Kathryn Saiers, Paula Bernadyne, Becky Harmison, Chuck Swartz and Todd Swartz.
She was preceded in death by her son, Austin Thomas Swartz and her brother Charles T. Swartz.
Funeral arrangement are being handled by Rest Haven Funeral Chapel.
