Zella Pearl (Heasty) Weaver

Zella Pearl (Heasty) Weaver, 87, of Hagerstown, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Williamsport Nursing Home.

Born July 27, 1925 in Lake Township, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Robert Francis and Vivian Pearl (Bostwick) Heasty.

Zella was a 1943 graduate of Elkton High School in Elkton, Michigan. She graduated in 1946 from Hurley Hospital School of Nursing in Flint, Michigan.

She worked as a charge nurse at the Washington County Hospital for 15 years before going to Ravenwood Lutheran Village in 1980.

She was a member of the United States World War II Cadet Nursing Corps from 1942-1948; a member of First Church of the Nazarene; a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Morris Frock Post No. 42; a previous member of First Baptist Church; and a volunteer at Prison Ministries Outreach of Mount Hope, Inc. of Hagerstown. She enjoyed visiting nursing homes to pray with residents and talking to everyone. She kept journals with daily thoughts and devotions to the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, William Woodrow "W.W." Weaver, Sr.; and a son, William Woodrow "Billy" Weaver, Jr.

She is survived by three children, Gary Joseph Weaver and his wife Pamela of Clear Spring, Steven William Weaver and his wife Linda also of Clear Spring, Kathryn Ann Weaver-Myers of Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Kristi Bachtell of Hagerstown, Bryan Weaver of Clear Spring, Jennifer McNew of Chambersburg, Kimberly and Jessica; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Patricia Ward of Kissimmee, FL, Roberta Stahl of Caseville, MI, Georgina Kreh of Kindie, MI, Maude Heck of Pigeon, MI; and a very dear friend, Linda Collins of Shepherdstown, WV.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Eric Folk officiating. Interment will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 401 North High St., Martisnburg, WV 25404.
