Alfred (Al) E Boyers, Jr, 73, Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Doey’s House surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 24, 1950, to the late Alfred E Boyers, Sr and the late Sally Harrell Wise in Harrisonburg, VA. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Janet Hudson Boyers, son Scott Boyers (Danielle Corson), daughters Beth Regnier (Christopher), Amy Swaney (William) and Hannah Chaney (Raymond). Grandchildren Mazie, Billy, Raeanna, Quin, Zachary and Allie.

Al graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1968. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served as an Aviation Electronics Technician with VMA (AW) 121 stationed at Cherry Point Marine Corp Air Station, NC. He then worked in the family business, Boyers Two-Way Radio, until 1996. He acquired his Radio Officers license and served as a United States Coast Guard (civilian) Communication Officer in the Merchant Marines. Al traveled all over the world and deployed to the Persian Gulf nine times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He retired in 2016. He enjoyed entertaining friends and family with stories of his many travel adventures.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by Charlotte Boyers, Edward B Wise and sister Lynda Daley.

Visitation will be at Rest Haven Funeral Home in Hagerstown, MD on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm.

Burial will be a private graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Washington County Hospice, Inc., designate to Doey’s House.
