Alice Maxine Dodson Head, 86, a resident of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at her home.
Born Feb. 27, 1924, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Mazie and Fred McGinnis.
She was employed for 36 years at Rosen's Department Store, as the manager and buyer for the shoe department.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd Ministries and AMVETS Post 10.
She enjoyed her family, her cat Missy, gardening and bingo scratch-offs.
Alice is survived by her son and his wife, Elmer and Cindy Dodson of Hagerstown, and stepdaughter and husband, Sharon and Harold Grant of Maine. Her grandchildren are Stephen and Kristen Dodson; David and Lori Dodson of Hagerstown; Katie and Matt Cecchetti of Pennsylvania; Wayne Head and April Lombardi of Maine; and Laura Huntzberry; great-grandchildren, Seth and Abbey Dodson and Kayla Huntzberry; nieces, Petie Jenkins and Connie Little; and two special friends, Mary Mullenix and Linda Newlin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Head; her daughter, Vicki Lee Detrow; two sisters, Kathryn Kershner and Evelyn Magaha; and nephew Bobby Kershner.
Pastor Steven McCullough will officiate at a memorial service on April 17, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Ministries, 19763 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742-2556.
