Anne Corrine "Susie" Yeakle, 93, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away December 31, 2022.
 
Born in Hagerstown MD, April 4, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Adolph Grooms and Carrie (Redford) Grooms.
 
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years, George D, Yeakle, her sister Thelma Reynolds, and two brothers, Carroll Grooms and Williaam Grooms, Sr.
 
Corrine graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1947. She was a member of the Queen Esther Chapter # 3 for more than 50 years, a member of Elks Lodge # 378, Lady of the Elks # 378, and a member of the Hagerstown chapter # 89 Eastern Star. She was a member of the Washington Square Methodist church her whole life and the last of her family. Corrine loved sewing, crocheting, and crafts and playing the organ and piano.

 Corrine worked as a switchboard operator for the phone company before becoming a full time caretaker for her father, Adolph.

Corrine is survived by two nephews, Kirk Grooms of Hagerstown, William Grooms of Frederick, MD and two nieces, Sigrid (Grooms) Beach of Hollywood, MD and Beverly Lambert of Harrisonburg, Va and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
 
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 12:00pm at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
 
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 11:00am.
 
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742, and Brooke's House, 17670 Technology Blvd, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
